What is black marble?

All marble stones are the result of recrystallization of calcium carbonate and other minerals such as clay, mica, etc. These materials change under conditions of high temperature and pressure and eventually form continuous crystals of calcite.

• NERO MARQUINA MARBLE black marble

This stone, often known as nero marble, is a type of high-intensity marble that has extraordinary strength. Nero marble has irregular white lines on a black background. The most important source of this stone is located in the Basque Country in France.

• CALATORAO black marble

This type of black marble with its extraordinary resistance to environmental factors can be used as flooring in open spaces. The main quarry is located in Zaragoza, Spain.

• GOLDEN BLACK MARBLE

In addition to the two mentioned cases, there is another type of black marble that has received a lot of attention due to its attractive appearance. Black background with white quartz and gold streaks are the hallmarks of this marble market.

Due to the high strength of this stone, it can be used for wall and floor coverings inside and outside. This stone is mainly used indoors to cover floors and walls, kitchen tables and countertops, fireplaces and foundations of other parts of the house. It is one of the most important sources of this stone in Iran. Hence, it is also called Iranian Golden Marble or Black Marshall Robat Morad Marble.

Countries producing black marble

China, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Spain and Italy are currently the largest holders of marble quarries in the world. Among these, the major quarries that exist in different parts of the world have been registered in Iran, Spain, Italy and China.

• China: High-quality marble existed in China is often of the Narmarkoina marble type. Jianxi, Tangshan, Guangzhou and Hebei are some of the famous provinces producing black marble in China.

• Turkey: Other prominent black marble quarries include Antalya black marble in Turkey. Turkey is one of the largest exporters of marble, granite and marble in the world.

Black marble quarries in Iran

The geological features of the vast land of Iran show that this country had an extraordinary position for the formation of marble stones. Over the years, important quarries have been found throughout the country through careful surveys.

Each of these quarries contains a different type of marble, which in addition to meeting domestic needs, a significant share of which is allocated to exports. Among these precious stones, we can mention black marble.

Exact statistics on the number of active black marble quarries cannot be announced at this time. Because some quarries have not yet been fully activated or registered. But the most important black marble quarries in Iran can be mentioned as follows:

• Robat Morad Marble Mine

The valuable quarry, which is located in the village of Robat Morad in the central province, is the site of the extraction of a huge amount of Golden Marshall marble. This black marble, known for its golden streaks, has a conglomerate texture.

Kashan Golden Black quarry

One of the most important reserves of black marble in Iran is located in Asan region of Kashan city. The black marble extracted from this quarry is of the Golden Black type and is known under the Golden Black brand of Kashan. This marble is of high quality and has been considered by many decoration designers.

• Mako Black Marble quarry

The Mako Black Marble quarry, located in the Mako Free Zone in West Azerbaijan, has been registered with a reserve of more than 200,000 tons of black marble. The quality of the stone extracted from this quarry is equal to the imported samples. To date, this quarry has provided an important part of the country's needs.

• Black Arta Marble

Black Arta marble is another producer of marble in Iran, whose quarry is located in Nehbandan city of South Khorasan. The black background with white and gold streaks has given a special beauty to this marble.
