Taj Mahal building. India
It is one of the most famous buildings in the world and a beautiful and magnificent tomb, located near the city of Agra, 200 km south of New Delhi, the capital of India, and is considered one of the seven new wonders of the world.
According to the book The Persian Role on Indian Stones, this monument was built by order of Shah Jahan, the fifth Gurkha emperor of India, to commemorate his Iranian wife, the venerable Lady Begum, known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1632 or 1631 AD during a war trip during childbirth. . Shah Jahan himself was later buried there
The tomb is the center of the Taj Mahal complex. This part is a large structure made of white marble, which is located on a pedestal and has a symmetrical structure with a porch covered with a dome. Like most Gurkhani tombs, the basic elements of the building are rooted in Persian culture
The most beautiful feature of the Taj Mahal is its marble dome that covers the tomb. The dome is approximately 35 meters (115 feet) high, which is similar in size to the main building. Due to its special shape, this dome is often known as an onion or guava dome. Four smaller dome umbrellas with onion dome architecture are located in the corners of the dome, which makes it more prominent. The dome is slightly asymmetrical. Its columnar pedestals open to the roof of the tomb and provide light to its interior. The garlands extend from the edge of the base walls and increase the visual height of the dome.
Pantheon Temple. Rome
One of the most famous and influential buildings in the history of architecture is the Pantheon. This temple was built around 125 AD. The Pantheon is a round, domed temple, with a rectangular portico in front of it that does not seem to fit as well as it should and perhaps did not fit into the original arch, and was probably added later.
The initial effect of the observation of this building was probably different from its effect today, because the Pantheon was not originally an independent building, but was connected to an older basilica, and its extension covered the side edges of the Pantheon. In addition, in front of the temple porch was a columned courtyard, part of which was part of the porch, and in the beginning was the only visible part of the building from the front. This courtyard, built in the time of Hadrian, was probably one of the designs of this emperor. The Pantheon has a form of magnificent simplicity on a large scale. A hemispherical dome with a diameter of 43 meters has been built above its interior, and the distance between the top of the dome and the floor of the Pantheon is 43 meters.
